The Projects

Work in progress
Work in progress at the worksite of the Leopoldine.
Opening in summer 2011

Leopoldine Spa will become a big thermal beauty farm where all the most modern wellbeing treatments, fitness and beauty treatments will be available, including a 2.400 sq metre thermal pool and a 4.800 sq metre wellness centre which retains the building's charming eighteenth-centrury characteristics.
The main characteristics of this new centre will be its precious materials, state-of-the-art technology and thermal water everywere.

The Plan

The whole plan develops within the wider project of re-qualification and renovation of Terme di Montecatini. A systematic project with creative structures that form and find their definition among spaces generated by the interlacing and superimposition of water ponds, terracing units and overhangs at different heights, as if they were lying on the natural landscape. These project elements are proposed as true sculptures that are modelled by the main element of the entire Terme Project: water.

Through the exploitation of the Park, i.e. renovation and accomplishment works with new routes, the aim of the project is to give new value and functions to the building of Terme Leopoldine, in order to create ideals spaces for Thermal Wellbeing, intended for health treatments and maintenance by means of diagnosis, therapies and thermal courses. Nowadays the thermal medicine is a science that, like any other medical discipline, uses the diagnostic and therapeutic aids made available by the technological progress and knowledge and promotes the scientific research. This rigorous approach is dictated by the will and need of fully exploiting the therapeutic properties of our hydro-mineral patrimony.
